An ongoing research and education project, developed by Karolin Meunier and Maximiliane Baumgartner. It was first activated with/by a group of students at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. 

Phasenweise nicht produktiv / Periods of Non-Productivity can be understood as a provisional slogan, a score, an optimistic prognosis or a negative diagnosis. Our proposal is to focus on the relationship between performance as an artistic form and education itself as a performative act, both in its mutual reflection and in its disparity – which social, spatial or institutional hierarchies, which unexamined standards are reflected therein? When do educational processes become counterproductive and for whom, but also how can non-productive periods be consciously allowed or how can the break-up of overly efficient routines be provoked? The action, the play and the images integral to one’s own body may suggest fragile and sensitive configurations as well as opportunities to open up spaces with performative gestures. With reference to approaches of feminist, free or action pedagogy as well as conceptual performance art, we attempt to playfully counter normative spaces and everyday languages.

In this lecture I follow a motif: the moving distance between camera and filmed object, between bed and studio, between desire and access, between exhaustion and action. Using examples from film and literature, I explore the question of which images are found to problematise an un/restricted radius of action. Akademie der Bildenden Künste München in Kooperation mit Der Fahrende Raum, ein Projekt für kunstvermittlerisches und künstlerisches Handeln im städtischen Kontext, 30.11. – 01.12.2018

In einer beweglichen Rauminstallation mit Architekturfragmenten des Fahrenden Raums versammelt der Aktionstag Personen, Gespräche, Recherchen, Auftritte und Objekte. Sie erzählen von radikaler Raumwahrnehmung, Cyborgs und Female Technologies, von Versuchsanordnungen und Archiven, die sich nicht ästhetisieren lassen, von Abweichungen des Offiziellen, der Kritik an und den Alternativen zu institutionalisierten Lehrformen und einem imaginierten Publikum.
