READING A CODE is a project on the materiality and visuality of computer code and questions of illegibility. The performance works with the source code of a website and its video animation, both by artist Anike Joyce Sadiq (Utopian Institutions, 2022). The reading of the code circles around various aspects of the un/readability of computer languages, secret messages, digitality, institutional critique and codes of conduct.

The first iteration was developed in the context of „Reading Reading. On an Aesthetic Practice“ a research project by Barbara Bausch (FU Berlin).
